WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In the early 20th century, struggling riverboat captain Frank Wolff (Johnson) is approached by British scientist Dr. Lily Houghton (Blunt) to assist her and her brother McGregor (Whitehall) on a journey through the Amazon jungle in search of a fabled tree said to possess healing powers. Tempted by their promise of a big payday, Wolff leads Houghton on an epic quest where they come across wild and dangerous animals, an impossibly hot climate, and a rival German expedition who wants to harness the tree’s powers for more nefarious purposes…
