WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Jamie Wellerstein (Jordan) is a talented young novelist who meets and falls in love with Cathy Hiatt (Kendrick), a struggling actress. Their story is told through musical numbers over an intercutting timeline; Cathy’s songs begin at the end of their marriage and move backwards to the beginning of their relationship, and Jamie’s songs begin when they meet and end when they break apart…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

As a musical lead-in to Anna Kendrick’s forthcoming musical sequel Pitch Perfect 2, this ambitious attempt – based on the off-Broadway smash hit – tells a charming but tragic tale of young love and its consequences.
