WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Hector McAdam (Mullan) has traded in his once comfortable life for one that is lived primarily on motorways and service stations. Homeless and relying on the kindness of others for food and shelter, he begins to make his annual pilgrimage from Scotland to a temporary Christmas shelter in London, where he likes to find the very best of people and environments. On his journey, he decides to reconnect with his former life and family, the events of which lead to the reveal of why he has chosen a derelict life to begin again with…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

A real gem of an independent movie by first-time filmmaker Jake Gavin, Hector is the powerful and quietly comforting study of a man who has given up everything but wishes to make amends in the season of goodwill.
