WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In the final years of his life, Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (Dafoe) resides in self-exile within Arles and Auvers-Sur-Oise, France, where he develops his unique painting skills as well as grapples with his religion and his depression. However, through a series of episodes, some involving his tumultuous friendship with French painter Paul Gauguin (Isaac), Van Gogh begins to focus on his relationship with eternity rather than the pain his art causes him in the present…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Willem Dafoe is outstanding in his Oscar-nominated portrayal of Vincent Van Gogh in this artistic vision of the painter’s final years.
