WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Charles (Stevens) is a crime novelist who has been commissioned to adapt one of his novels for the screen, but is struggling with severe writer’s block. In a desperate search for inspiration, he recruits disgraced medium Madame Arcati (Dench) to his and his wife Ruth’s (Fisher) home for a séance, where she accidentally summons the spirit of Charles’ first, deceased wife Elvira (Mann). Riddled with jealousy over Ruth, Elvira soon plots to spend eternity with Charles, no matter the cost…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The classic Noël Coward comedy is adapted once more for the big screen, bringing a lively sense of screwball slapstick that should provide light relief in these difficult times.
