WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In the mid-90s, journalist Gary Webb (Renner) uncovers a scandalous story involving the CIA importing large amounts of cocaine into the ghettos of Los Angeles, with the money going on to fund rebel armies in Nicaragua. Despite enormous pressure not to, Webb publishes the story anyway – only to find himself the target of a vicious smear campaign imposed by the CIA…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Jeremy Renner headlines the true story of a man hounded by tense figures simply for the act of citing free speech in the press – something which, in light of recent events, is all too relative and tragic.
