WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Molly Bloom (Chastain) is an Olympic-class skier who also runs one of the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker games for a decade, with her clients including Hollywood royalty, sports athletes, business tycoons, and the Russian mob. It is this last connection that leads to her becoming the target of an FBI investigation, and her only ally when she is arrested is criminal defence lawyer Charlie Jaffey (Elba), who soon learns that there’s more to Molly than she lets on…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Aaron Sorkin makes his directorial debut with his own script about the wild and very true tale of the poker empire established by Molly Bloom, and complimenting his trademark witty back-and-forth dialogue is an all-encompassing lead performance by Jessica Chastain.
