WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In post-war Germany, young artist Kurt (Schilling) is still tormented by the experiences he had during his childhood under the Nazi reign. When he meets and falls in love with fellow student Ellie (Beer), her father Professor Carl Seeband (Koch) is dismayed at their pairing and vows to destroy their relationship – but it is soon revealed that Seeband is very closely tied to one particularly disturbing event from Kurt’s traumatic childhood…
