Upon arrival, he is selected to partake in a storytelling ritual, just as a violent battle for control is about to erupt – but upon learning of the grim fate awaiting him at the end of the night, the young man begins to narrate the story of a legendary outlaw, which he hopes will help him survive until dawn breaks…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Filmmaker Philippe Lacôte’s harsh and brutal ode to storytelling is a mysterious and intoxicating blend of fantasy and gritty realism, making it an unpredictable but also compelling entry in the prison movie genre.
