WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

During a visit to a POW camp in Manchester after the Second World War, Margaret (Mavor) – the daughter of the local amateur football team’s manager – notices young German inmate Bert Trautmann (Kross) playing exceptionally well in goal during a prison yard kickabout, and her father becomes so taken with his skills that he transfers Bert out of the camp and into the world of football, which sends both Bert and Margaret on an unforgettable journey together…
