WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Mark Hogancamp (Carell) is brutally attacked by a group of thugs, leaving him with brain damage and little memory of his past life. To help his recovery, he begins constructing a miniature World War II village in his backyard, which he calls Marwen and populates with little dolls that represent him, the women in his life, and even his violent attackers…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The strange but true story of Mark Hogancamp and his miniature village was previously covered in the award-winning documentary Village of the Dolls, but is dramatized here for equally emotional effect with the help of director Robert Zemeckis.
