80-year-old Anthony (Hopkins) is a feisty and fiercely independent man who refuses all assistance from his adult daughter Anne (Colman), who is actively looking for a carer to look after him when she moves to Paris. As Anthony struggles to make sense of his ever-changing surroundings, he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind, and even his sense of reality…
