  • It’s a true story – we can’t emphasis this enough! – that is given a suitably truthful depiction while making it as fun and accessible to audiences as possible

California Schemin’ is showing in cinemas from Friday 10 April 2026

  • The central premise sounds extremely wacky, in the best way that a heightened rom-com such as this can be!
  • It’ll make you fall in love with not just the lead characters but the place in which they slowly discover their burning attraction

FIVE REASONS TO BE EXCITED:

  • Prolific French filmmaker François Ozon presents a gripping and timely new adaptation of the classic Albert Camus novel
  • Shot in striking black-and-white cinematography, Ozon allows the existential narrative to unfold with a precise amount of emotional bleakness
  • Benjamin Voisin, who previously headlined Summer of 85 for Ozon, delivers a haunting central performance filled with indifference and unreadable emotion
  • Ozon displays a magnetic grasp for film noir elements as the mysterious plot reveals an equally complex character with everything yet also nothing to lose
  • It’s a profound adaptation that could well rank among the filmmaker’s finest-ever works, just as the original novel once did for Camus himself

The Stranger is showing in cinemas from Friday 10 April 2026

  • Originally meant for release late last year, the launch date was moved back after Sesh injured himself on set while filming one of the film’s many intense action sequences
  • The delay was worth it as this is a wildly entertaining ride that offers all that you could ever ask for from an action epic

PLOT: A haunted house becomes the stage for a chaotic clash of supernatural surprises…

FIVE REASONS TO BE EXCITED:

  • It sees the director and co-writer reunite with leading man Akshay Kumar for the first time in over fifteen years, and for the seventh time overall
  • The mysterious plot is rumoured to have taken inspiration from Indian mythology surrounding black magic, as well as extracts from ancient texts such as the Vedas and the Mahabharata

FIVE REASONS TO BE EXCITED:

  • Jonah Hill’s second narrative feature as director sees him tackling the incessant egos of Hollywood in a biting yet human satire
  • Hill has assembled a fine ensemble of actors to send up their own lifestyles, including Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, David Spade, and even legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese (who directed Hill to his second Oscar nomination in The Wolf of Wall Street)
  • The director himself also takes on a meaty supporting role, though he’s so unrecognisable here that you wouldn’t even know it was him unless you were told!
  • It takes hilarious aim at the larger-than-life personalities that make up Hollywood’s shining collection of stars, as well as those of the people who put their visions to celluloid
  • Fans of recent films like Jay Kelly and Sentimental Value, which similarly exposed the hollowness of Hollywood, will find that this film goes all too neatly alongside them

Outcome is streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ from Friday 10 April 2026

  • Tommy Wirkola, the genre filmmaker behind cult classics like Dead Snow and Violent Night, writes and directs a mash-up that also speaks to today’s climate instability
  • The ensemble cast includes Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou and Furiosa breakout Alyla Browne, all playing potential victims of some terrifying sharks
  • Adding to the surprising prestige factor is the inclusion of Oscar-winning filmmaker Adam McKay, an outspoken pro-environmental activist, as a producer
