THE VISIT (15)

WHO’S IN IT?

Olivia DeJonge (The Sisterhood of Night), Ed Oxenbould (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), Deanna Dunagan (Losing Isaiah), Peter McRobbie (Lincoln), Kathryn Hahn (We’re The Millers), Benjamin Kanes (My Blueberry Nights)

WHO’S BEHIND THE CAMERA?

M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense), director, writer, producer; Marc Bienstock (Spider’s Web) and Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity), producers; Maryse Alberti (The Wrestler), cinematographer; Luke Franco Ciarrocchi (Jakarta Sins), editor

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

While their mother (Hahn) is on vacation, two siblings (DeJonge and Oxenbould) are sent to stay with their grandparents (Dunagan and McRobbie). Their curiosity is aroused when they are told not to come out of their room after 9:30pm, but when they obviously break that rule they soon discover that their seemingly loving grandparents have some disturbing behavioural problems, and they must get to the bottom of it before something drastic happens…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

M. Night Shyamalan may not have had a great run as of late, but perhaps a teaming with modern horror powerhouse Blumhouse Productions for his latest film The Visit may push his career in the right direction.
