WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Young orphan Sophie (Barnhill) one night encounters a 24-foot man lurking outside her window, and is soon whisked away to the enlarged realm of Giant Country when she is spotted by him. She soon learns that he is the Big Friendly Giant or BFG (Rylance) who, despite his intimidating appearance, is actually a gentle and kind-hearted soul who refuses to eat “human beans”, unlike his more aggressive and frightening fellow giants. Both Sophie and the BFG form a special friendship as they embark on a wondrous and dream-like adventure together…
