WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Tom (Fassbender), a lighthouse keeper, and his wife Isabel (Vikander) live off the coast of Australia, but find they are unable to have children. One day, they notice a rowboat wash up onto the shore, and inside there is a baby girl that is all alone. They decide to take the child in and raise her as their own, but when they later meet a grieving woman (Weisz) who might be the girl’s mother, the consequences of their actions soon become apparent…
