In 1809 France, Captain Neuville (Dujardin) is called to the front, leaving his beloved future bride Pauline (Merlant) heartbroken. Her sister Elisabeth (Laurent), who despises Neuville, forges letters from him to her when he fails to do so himself, eventually writing him out of her life. Three years later, Elisabeth encounters a down-on-his-luck Neuville, who then proceeds to re-emerge into society and lie about his heroic exploits based on Elisabeth’s letters, much to her annoyance…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Academy Award-winning actor Jean Dujardin teams up with Mélanie Laurent for a farcical and often hilarious battle of the sexes that makes full use of the actor’s natural charisma.
