A FAITHFUL MAN (15)

WHO’S IN IT?

Louis Garrel (The Dreamers), Laetitia Casta (Arbitrage), Lily-Rose Depp (Yoga Hosers), Joseph Engel (Isn’t It Delicious), Diane Courseille (film debut), Vladislav Galard (The Beat That My Heart Skipped)

WHO’S BEHIND THE CAMERA?

Louis Garrel (Two Friends), director, writer; Jean-Claude Carrière (The Unbearable Lightness of Being), writer; Pascal Caucheteux (You Were Never Really Here) and Grégoire Sorlat (The Red Turtle), producers; Irina Lubtchansky (Ismael’s Ghosts), cinematographer; Joëlle Hache (The Girl on the Bridge), editor

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Nine years after she left him for his best friend, journalist Abel (Garrel) is reunited with his former love Marianne (Casta), now widowed. Although at first things seem well, Abel soon deals with the advances of young woman Ève (Depp), Marianne’s obnoxious son Joseph (Engel), and the multiple questions about what exactly happened with her first husband…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

French actor Louis Garrel’s second film as director is both a classic farce and a homage to the New French Wave era – also, look out for a supporting turn by Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.
