WHAT’ S IT ABOUT?

Six years after her husband’s brutal death, single mother Amelia (Davis) struggles to raise her young son Samuel (Wiseman) who is having severe dreams about a monster coming to kill them both. A mysterious storybook called “Mister Babadook” suddenly makes its way into the household, and Samuel becomes convinced that the Babadook is the monster from his dreams. It doesn’t take too long for Amelia either to figure out that the threat may be far too real…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

In a genre overly dominated by jump scares and “gore-nography”, The Babadook is a refreshing horror film that actually relies on actual horror to scare the living daylights out of its audience.
