WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In 1847, Ireland is in the midst of the Great Famine, which has plagued the country for two long years. Feeney (Frecheville), an Irish Ranger that has been fighting for the British Army abroad, abandons his post and returns home to be with his family, but finds that not only has his homeland become a desolate and lawless society due to the famine, but that his family has starved to death, or in his brother’s case hanged by the British. With nothing left to lose, Feeney sets out to avenge his family…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

An action-thriller set during one of Ireland’s darkest periods in its history, Black ‘47 offers a compelling revenge story spliced with scenes of hardship and brutality brought about by the British upon the impoverished Irish.
