WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

It’s been some time since we last left Bridget Jones (Zellweger), but unfortunately her supposed happy ending with Mark Darcy (Firth) didn’t quite turn out how she had planned, with the two having broken up and leaving Bridget single once again. She decides to focus on her career as a news producer, which seems to go well until she meet Jack Qwant (Dempsey), a charming American who seems to be everything that Darcy simply isn’t. Soon, the biggest bombshell of them all arrives: Bridget discovers that she is pregnant – but in a shocking twist, the father could be either Darcy or Jack…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

At long last, Renée Zellweger is back in her most iconic role, that of Helen Fielding’s ever-unlucky singleton, and is taking an extra maternal step in a sequel that hopefully will make up for it being rather too late.
