WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Whilst on the run from a group of Decepticons, battle-scarred Autobot Bumblebee finds himself on Earth in the year 1987, where he takes refuge in a small Californian junkyard, disguising himself as a yellow Volkswagen Bug car. He is soon found by teenager Charlie (Steinfeld), who takes him in and befriends the lonely Autobot, who now must protect his new human friend when the Decepticons track him down…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The first Transformers movie to not be directed by Michael Bay – though he remains on board as a producer – might well be the best one yet, as this looks to be a sweeter and more emotional outing for everyone’s favourite yellow Autobot.
