WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Hazel Micallef (Sarandon), a police detective living a quiet life in an Ontario town with her mother (Burstyn), discovers an elderly woman murdered and heads an investigation with fellow detective Ray Green (Bellows) and new recruit Ben Wingate (Grace) to find and stop the killer before he strikes again…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

It’s refreshing to see a female-led crime thriller every once in a while, as opposed to the standard male lead, so The Calling should not only benefit from an intriguing and haunting mystery but also a strong central performance by the always-reliable Susan Sarandon.

WHEN’S IT OUT?
