WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Lonely bartender Bob (Hardy) is part of a covert scheme that funnels cash to local gangsters – called “money drops” – within the underworld of Brooklyn bars, which he does under the supervision of his employer and cousin Marv (Gandolfini). However, after an ill-fated robbery, Bob finds himself at the centre of an investigation that digs deep into the neighbourhood’s past…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The Drop hopes to be a suspenseful and engaging crime thriller, but sentimentally it also features the final appearance of late actor James Gandolfini in what would turn out to be his swan song.
