WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

London, 1975 – young doctor Robert Laing (Hiddleston) becomes seduced by the lifestyle of an isolated community in a high-rise complex that is cut off from the rest of society, created by the building’s architect Anthony Royal (Irons). He takes up residence on the twenty-fifth floor, discovering the many pleasures it seems to offer, including a relationship with Royal’s daughter Charlotte (Miller) – but after befriending Richard Wilder (Evans), a documentary filmmaker eager to expose the community’s class injustices, he finds himself caught up in a full-scale class war…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

With his new adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s satirical novel of the same name, as well as a great cast of actors bringing it all to life, director Ben Wheatley looks set to finally break into the mainstream with this unconventional but poignant black comedy.
