WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In the Old West, Jane Hammond (Portman) and her husband Bill (Emmerich) live a comfortable life away from the torment of the dreaded Bishop Boys gang and their relentless leader John Bishop (McGregor). When Bill returns home riddled with bullets after duelling with John and his gang, Jane turns to her former lover Dan Frost (Edgerton) for help in defending her family from almost certain death…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Despite having one of the most troubled productions in recent history – original director Lynn Ramsay bolted on the project days before shooting, and various actors from Bradley Cooper to Jude Law all came and went in the role that McGregor ended up playing – Jane Got A Gun should overcome its troubles to be a hardcore feminist Western for the ages.
