WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Photographer Dennis Stock (Pattinson) convinces a rebellious young actor on the cusp of stardom named James Dean (DeHaan) to shoot pictures of him for Life Magazine. Travelling across the country from LA to New York, both men share a deep interpersonal connection with each other as Dean is captured in his final moments of intimacy and simplicity before he breaks out as a new kind of film star…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The rise of legendary, and tragic, film star James Dean is not very often recorded in the medium he aspired to revolutionise, but through Anton Corbijn’s direction and Dane DeHaan’s affective performance the actor is given the posthumous credit he is more than due.
