WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Alice (Beecham) is a scientist who has developed a new breed of flower which, if properly looked after, makes its owners feel happy. However, when Joe and some of Alice’s colleagues become exposed to the flower’s pollen, they begin to act rather strangely…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Austrian filmmaker Jessica Hausner’s English-language debut is a quietly disturbing thriller that takes after Invaders of the Body Snatchers with its premise, but also after the likes of Stanley Kubrick with its style.
