At the dawn of the 20th century, British explorer Percy Fawcett (Hunnam) journeys into the Amazon and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilisation that may have once occupied the area. Although he is ridiculed by the scientific establishment, Fawcett is nonetheless determined, as well as encouraged by his wife (Miller), his son (Holland) and his confidante (Pattinson), to continue venturing into the uncharted territory…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Not only is The Lost City of Z a thrilling adventure film that charts the exploits of real-life explorer Percy Fawcett, but it also marks one of the rare instances where filmmaker James Gray actually has one of his films released properly in the UK.
