In 1950s Virginia, interracial couple Richard Loving (Edgerton) and Mildred Jeter (Negga) are arrested by local authorities when they learn that they had gotten married in Washington D.C., since marrying a person of colour is still an offense in the state. The couple fights hard for their right to be together, and soon their case attracts nationwide attention when the ACLU brings it to the Supreme Court, in a game-changing decision that would alter the American Constitution forever…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?
