WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Bob (Keitel) and Anne Fredericks (Collette) are a wealthy American couple living in Paris, who are organising a fancy dinner party for their sophisticated friends, but a superstitious Anne is fretting about there being 13 guests. Panicked, she has her loyal maid Maria (de Palma) pose as a Spanish noble woman to even out the numbers, but when she strikes up a connection with British art broker David (Smiley), Bob and Anne must set out to destroy their budding romance before David can catch on to Maria’s true identity…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

After going to some truly dark and horrific places in the excellent Hereditary, Toni Collette gets to relax in a much more comedic and light-hearted role in this farcial comedy that sees her share the screen with the legendary Harvey Keitel.
