WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Across three different points in time, three stories show the effects of war on the lives of ordinary people. In the summer of 1945, conscientious objector Oliver (Thompson) and his painter friend Eric (Tennyson) meet to talk about their wildly differing perspectives on the current war. Then, in 1982, a naval officer (Streatfeild) arrives at the home of a mother (Marten) to tell her that her son has died in the Falklands War. Finally, in 1986, former soldier Alan (Gravelle) and his young son Sam (O’Brien) come across Holocaust survivor Helene (Findlay) in the Black Forest of Germany…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Three separate stories of wartime woes show the long-lasting emotional effect such a thing can have on a person, in this adaptation of the trilogy of short plays by Robert Holman.
