WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In 1973, young John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) – the nephew of wealthy oil tycoon J. Paul Getty (Christopher Plummer) – is kidnapped by an organised crime regime, who demand a hefty random for his safe release. However, J. Paul Getty refuses to pay the ransom, leaving John’s desperate mother Gail (Williams) and former CIA operative and Getty Sr.’s business associate Fletcher Chase (Wahlberg) very little time to try and convince him to change his mind, before John is possibly killed…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

This tense thriller about the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III and the fallout surrounding it was already a highly anticipated film from director Ridley Scott, but the recent unheard of reshoots and recasting of a major role so close to its release date should earn it even more attention.
