WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Tripp (Till), a high school senior, is eager to escape his dull life in a small and uneventful town, and builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces from scrapped cars in an attempt to leave for good. One day, an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site puts Tripp in contact with a strange subterranean creature that hides itself in Tripp’s truck, and together they develop an unusual friendship…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

It’s not quite what everyone might be wanting from a film called Monster Trucks – not so much a cutesy family film, but more just an hour and a half of huge trucks destroying one another – but for a post-Christmas cinema treat, it’ll do just fine.
