WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In rural Mississippi shortly after World War 2, two families – the white McAllans and the black Jacksons – become connected when two men from both sides, Jamie (Hedlund) and Ronsel (Mitchell), form a friendship based on their shared experiences whilst serving in the war. Both men struggle to overcome the racism in their hometown and post-traumatic stress brought on by their experiences, while also keeping their respective families afloat…
