WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

The aging, cantankerous Woody Grant (Dern) believes he’s won a fortune after receiving a sweepstakes letter, and treks from Montana to Nebraska to claim it. Accompanying him is his son Danny (Forte), who continuously tries to persuade his father that he’s been conned, and together they encounter several people with their eyes fixated on Woody’s supposed fortune…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Never mind the fact that Sideways director Alexander Payne is behind the camera as director, Nebraska is a rare chance to see the legendary Bruce Dern in a leading role like the good ol’ days – and if he’s as good as that Best Actor award at Cannes claims, then it should be a very special treat indeed.
