Shelby John (Huston), a recovering heroin addict, is about to wed the love of his life Ruby (Fitzgerald), but when she shows up dead, an enraged Shelby arms himself with a shotgun and sets out to take revenge on the cartel responsible for her death. Not far behind is Mike Church (De Niro), a sympathetic sheriff who nonetheless sets out to bring Shelby to justice…
