WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Nearly a decade after his experiences as a child in World War 2 (as depicted in Boorman’s Hope and Glory), Bill Rohan (Turner) begins basic training in the early Fifties in preparation for the Korean War. Although he gets nowhere near the actual conflict, Bill and his trouble-making friend Percy (Jones) battle their snooty superiors on their base and find love in their town…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Filmmaker John Boorman, whose semi-autobiographical flick Hope and Glory was nominated for five Oscars including Best Picture in 1987, makes his long-awaited follow-up to that film which continues the fictional exploits of his on-screen counterpart as he goes through some natural, and awe-inspiring, changes and feelings.
