WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Akeem Sharp (Elliott) is an up-and-coming Jamaican track-and-field runner who hopes to travel to the USA, so he may reunite with his mother (Toussaint) who has been living there as an illegal resident for years. However, Akeem’s chances are threatened by his volatile father (Titus) and opportunistic brother (Wilson) when they insert themselves into his career, and now Akeem must fight to prove himself and other that he can not only succeed, but overcome the obstacles that threaten to drag him down…
