WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In the 1960s, African-American businessmen Bernard Garrett (Jackson) and Joe Morris (Mackie) struggle to succeed in a system that is racially oppressive. To get ahead, they hire a working class white man named Matt Steiner (Hoult) to pose as the face of their real estate and banking empire, while they pose as his janitor and chauffeur. While at first the charade seems to be paying off, it’s not long before their plan is threatened…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The first major film to debut on Apple’s new streaming service is the enthralling but ashamedly timely story of two African-American men going to several extremes in order to get their foot in the door.
