WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In 1973, at a bank in Stockholm, Sweden, self-styled outlaw Lars Nystrom (Hawke) walks in and takes two of the employees hostage, demanding the release of friend Gunnar (Strong) as well as $1 million and a getaway car. As negotiations with the police continue to get ugly, one of the hostages – married mother Bianca (Rapace) – begins to develop sympathy towards her captor, causing her to side with him in the midst of the increasingly intense standoff…

The real-life events that would later inspire the term “Stockholm syndrome” are dramatized in this exciting thriller that features strong turns from Ethan Hawke and Noomi Rapace as captor and captive respectively.
