WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

During a manned mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) is presumed dead after a freak storm on the planet surface, and is left behind by his crew. Unbeknownst to them, Watney has not only survived but now finds himself completely alone on the planet. Relying heavily on his wit, spirit and limited supplies, Watney tries desperately to send a signal back to Earth to let them know he is still alive, while his crew plots a daring rescue mission to bring him home…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Based on the best-selling sci-fi book, The Martian not only features heavy talent in front of and behind the camera – Matt Damon stars, Ridley Scott directs – but also sets the stakes high for a moving and incredibly inspiring tale of survival on one of the most hostile environments in the solar system.
