WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In 1968, amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst (Firth) decides to compete in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race to gain funds for his business and his family. He eventually sets sail with an unfinished boat and the hopes of becoming the first person to sail alone around the world without stopping, but the rough conditions of the sea as well as the growing psychological turmoil cause him to greatly exaggerate his voyage to those keeping track, and ends up descending further into madness as he continues his solo voyage…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Colin Firth is as magnetic as ever in this tale of the real-life mystery surrounding Donald Crowhurst and his ambitious attempt to voyage around the world, which ultimately led to something far more tragic.
