WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

It’s Christmas, and all young Clara (Foy) wants is a key, which will open a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. Her godfather Drosselmeyer (Freeman) presents her with a golden thread, which leads her to the key in a strange and mysterious parallel world, where she encounters a soldier named Phillip (Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice, and the rulers of three of the world’s realms, among them the Sugar Plum Fairy (Knightley). However, if Clara is to retrieve the key once and for all, she must venture into the Fourth Realm, ruled over by the wicked Mother Ginger (Mirren), and restore order to the world…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The classic story and Tchaikovsky ballet is given the Disney live-action treatment, and looks to be a magical and enchanting start to the fast-approaching Christmas festivities.
