THE ONES BELOW (15)

WHO’S IN IT?

Clémence Poésy (In Bruges), David Morrissey (Nowhere Boy), Stephen Campbell Moore (The History Boys), Laura Birn (A Walk Among The Tombstones), Deborah Findlay (The End of the Affair)

WHO’S BEHIND THE CAMERA?

David Farr (film debut), director, writer; Nikki Parrott (Jadoo), producer; Ed Rutherford (Exhibition), cinematographer; Chris Wyatt (This Is England), editor

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Expectant mother Kate (Poésy) and her husband Justin (Moore) move into the top half of a duplex, and soon encounter their downstairs neighbours Teresa (Birn) and Jon (Morrissey) who are also expecting their first baby. However, as the couples get to know each other, an unnerving difference between them becomes apparent, and things soon become a little more sinister than anyone could have expected…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

The directorial debut of writer David Farr – he had previously provided the script for Joe Wright’s Hanna – is a chilling tale of parental paranoia and the inability to trust who may be your closest friends.
