WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In 1916 New York, Peter Lake (Farrell) is a thief indebted to local gangster Pearly Soames (Crowe). During a burglary of a mansion, he meets and falls in love with Beverly Penn (Findlay), a young occupant of the house dying of tuberculosis. As the lovers wait for the inevitable, a strange set of events suddenly transports Lake to modern-day Manhattan…
