WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In post-Second World War America, Romanian refugee Maja (Rapace) lives with her husband Lewis (Messina) in the suburbs, but is still traumatised by the violence she experienced during the war. She suspects her new neighbour Thomas (Kinnaman) of being a former German soldier who was directly responsible for some of her greatest nightmares, and proceeds to kidnap him and keep him locked away in the basement, until she gets retribution for what happened to her and those closest to her…

Noomi Rapace slips back into Lisbeth Salander territory in this tense suburban thriller, in which the actress plays a wrong war crime victim who seeks torturous revenge against who she thinks is her former tormentor.
