• Filmmaker Mohammed Ali Naqvi blends archive footage of the incident with interviews and dramatic reenactments that present a clearer picture of what happened on that fateful day
• Naqvi also incorporates some stomach-churning cinematography which places the viewer right alongside the eight stranded civilians in that tiny, ever so delicate cable car
• With everything unfolding in real time, you feel all the intensity in the world as things slowly progress to a climax worthy of your average crowd-pleaser
• It’s a terrifying ordeal that is wonderfully replicated by a filmmaker that honours the courage and resilience of those who lived to tell the tale

• South Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-Ho returns to zombie cinema some ten years after his international breakout film Train to Busan
• Although set in a different universe than that film, Sang-Ho reconfigures the familiar zombie traits into an original experience that is as entertaining as it is horrifying
• The zombies themselves are a true force of nature, with truly grotesque make-up effects and unique body movements, as crafted by a group of professional dance choreographers
• Even with a two-hour runtime, it moves by at an exceptionally quick pace, to where you’ll hardly be able to catch your breath at times
• Fans of K-horror should warmly welcome this as a fine new addition to the genre, as will lovers of zombie cinema in general

• Expect plenty of familiar faces as well as a few new ones in a film that doubles down on high-octane action and thrilling suspense
• Naturally, there’s plenty of brutal violence being dished out by an anti-hero who is proving himself to be quite indestructible, seeing how he’s survived this long!
• It’ll definitely please fans of the franchise who have been craving for an all-new instalment since the well-received sixth film, subtitled Vengeance

• Filmmaker Antonin Baudry, who previously directed the hit Netflix submarine thriller The Wolf’s Call, focuses on de Gaulle’s early army career as well as his life-defining leadership of the French Resistance
• French-Armenian actor Simon Akbarian is magnetic as de Gaulle, while for the English-speaking crowd there are some special appearances by Simon Russell Beale as Churchill and Campbell Scott as US President Franklin D. Roosevelt
• There are some striking action sequences that are expertly made, all of which further enforce the epic feel of the story being told
• It’s not long until the second part, titled Liberté, completes de Gaulle’s on-screen story – it’s currently set for release next month!

• Its leads, Pretty Little Liars star Maia Reficco and Spanish actor Fernando Lindez, share impeccable romantic chemistry, while Eva Longoria lends hefty support as the former’s overprotective mother
• The Spanish backdrops, mostly filmed in Mallorca, are stunning in their own right and provide a plentiful environment for the budding romance

• Damien Chazelle’s modern musical masterpiece is dancing its way back onto the big screen for its 10th anniversary
• It was the filmmaker’s follow-up to his Oscar-winning breakthrough Whiplash, and it became a smash hit among critics and audiences
• The songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are infectiously catchy, the cinematography by Linus Sandgren is sublime, and of course the lead turns by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are career highlights for both of them
• Hollywood was quick to award it at every turn, culminating in a haul of six Oscars including Director for Chazelle and Lead Actress for Stone – but most memorably, its initial announcement of being the Best Picture winner was in fact a mix-up with the real winner, Moonlight (a more than worthy winner, even if this one is slightly better in our opinion!)
• Whether you know the songs off by heart or simply want to escape into a timeless depiction of rose-tinted Hollywood glory, then do yourself a solid and make plans to revisit the city of stars once more!

• Shaun the Sheep, who made his debut in the Oscar-winning short A Close Shave, became a star in his own right thanks to the hit children’s show of the same name, in which he causes plenty of kid-friendly mischief on a farm filled with hilarious animal supporting characters
• In keeping with the show, the film is largely a silent affair (with the voice cast providing mere grunts to their characters), while a larger emphasis is placed on the physical and visual slapstick
• The film was universally praised by critics and audiences, became a comfortable box office hit, and even scored an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature
