On the abandoned Isla Nublar, where the once-prominent Jurassic World once stood, the remaining genetically-engineered dinosaurs roam freely, until a volcanic eruption threatens to destroy the island and all of the prehistoric creatures. Former park manager Claire (Howard), who has now formed an organisation dedicated to protecting dinosaurs, manages to convince her ex-boyfriend and velociraptor trainer Owen (Pratt) to accompany her to the island for a major rescue operation, which quickly goes south…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Whatever your opinions on the 2015 franchise revitaliser Jurassic World, it became such a big money-maker that a sequel was inevitable, and hopefully with J.A. Bayona taking over from Colin Trevorrow as director (though Trevorrow is still a credited writer) the series can get back to its thrilling – and even scarier – roots.
