WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Dallas, 1985. Ron Woodroff (McConaughey) is an electrician and rodeo cowboy who likes to live on the wild side, with endless supplies of drink, drugs and women. However, he is soon diagnosed with the HIV virus and given only thirty days to live, but his condition worsens when he starts taking the FDA-approved AZT to help treat his condition. Desperate to get better treatment, Woodroff begins smuggling medications in from across the world which attracts the attention of several other AIDS victims, including transsexual Rayon (Leto), who start looking to Woodroff for help…
